Most of my working life has been spent in libraries, but in my younger days I trained and worked as a nurse. Now I have given up paid employment to cultivate the art of not working, and save my life at the same time. Life isn't always easy, but it's what we've got. Carpe diem!

Goodbye Betty
Sad news for Corrie fans: Betty Driver, who played barmaid Betty Turpin for more than 40 years, has died, aged 91. I have to confess that I used to be a big Corrie fan in its glory days, but I hardly ever watch it now. But I have a very soft spot for down-to-earth stalwart Betty and I've often wondered what was in her famous hot-pot!
I dont follow CORONATION STREET any more ( I have not for years) But I will raise a glass of stout to one of the most lovable characters of my childhood years
I love Coro Street... and Betty did well to live such a long and happy life. She will be missed by millions I reckon. Tom... I miss Ena and Minnnie too!

I watched it for awhile and enjoyed her very much. Rest in Peace, Betty.
