Most of my working life has been spent in libraries, but in my younger days I trained and worked as a nurse. Now I have given up paid employment to cultivate the art of not working, and save my life at the same time. Life isn't always easy, but it's what we've got. Carpe diem!

Day two post op

Gah. Not feeling any better. Eye is as sore as it can be and constantly tearing up. Imagine having a giant piece of grit in your eye that is impossible to get out. Not much I can do except grin and bear it, and wait for it to heal, with the help of copious amounts of paracetamol. I took the precaution of stocking up the wine supply before going to hospital, so as soon as is decent I will get into a glass or two.

  1. You poor thing. Time will, of course, heal; but it's the bloody waiting!!!

  2. That's awful. Maybe the wine will allow you to sleep in off???
