Progress report

It's now 5 days after my second cataract op, eyesight has improved, and pain has gone. The bruising is fading but still very noticeable and I get sidelong looks when I go out but what the hell.
My friend Jo brought her new puppy round this morning to meet me, three month old Ruby, mainly black lab but a bit of something else in the mix too, if you ask me. Probably huntaway. She is gorgeous and very bouncy and affectionate. She's going to be a big girl! My cat has made himself scarce but I expect he'll appear when he gets hungry.  We went for a bit of a drive down to the river valley in her 4WD to give Ruby a run. It was Ruby's first visit to the river and she loved it.
Jo wondering whether to ford the stream and go further up the valley, where it gets really wild. That's Ruby on the right investigating something interesting - a cowpat, probably.

We decided not to risk fording the stream, there was a bit too much water because of recent rain.

Then it started to rain so we came home!

  1. Our yellow lab is now 11 months old. He too is 'mostly' Lab, and we are permanently wondering what the other 25% could have been. BIG DOG.

It looks really beautiful in your neck-o-the-woods, it rather reminds me of Wales. My sister lives up in the north of the north island, in a place called Kamo; ever heard of it?

  3. Cro: I've been reading about Monty on your blog. And yes, I know Kamo - I haven't stopped there but I have driven through it.
