Cats rule the Internet, we all know this. Lolcats, YouTube, webcams, and now the inaugural Internet Cat Video Film Festival. Yes, there is indeed such an event, and more than 10,000 attended the al fresco festival in Minnesota dedicated to cat videos from around the world. And the winner of the Golden Kitty, chosen by online voting, was Henri 2, Paw de Deux by Seattle filmmaker Will Braden, shot in black and white with a solo piano soundtrack, in which the eponymous star broods about his housebound existence. It is a masterpiece, from its moody opening to its tragic finale.
Our cats rule our lives, to some extent. How is your weather, gale winds, and horizontal rain up on the Desert Road earlier today, we are calm now, but the next week will be a good day every day for any cat to stay inside by the fire. Cheers,Jean.
ReplyDeleteDrizzly and windy here, Jean. Not so cold but I still have the fire going every day.
DeleteWhat am I doing watching cat videos, when I should be working.
ReplyDeleteHenri made several appearances in my e-mail, and I couldn't stop myself from watching any time. I even went looking once, when I needed a look at real ennui. I didn't know there was a cat film film festival, but well done, Henri.
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant, funny, beautifully done. Thank you so much for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteLovely wee video.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a cat person, although I do think kittens are very cute!
but... they filmed him running into a closed cat-door... Am I the only one who thinks that was mean?... :-(
ReplyDeleteNo Janet, you're not the only one. I thought it a bit mean too. Obviously done just so they could film it. I admit I sometimes close Mag's catdoor, to stop him coming in with a rabbit or some such. He always investigates the door with his paws first, never runs straight at it.
DeleteHaha very funny, I own cats so I loved this video. Cats own us we don't own them.
ReplyDeleteMy kingdom for a dog.
Are you ok Judith? You've gone all quiet... XO
