Cro over at Magnon's Meanderings has posted a photo of a stunning sunrise, which reminded me to share this video of the moon rising over Mount Victoria in Wellington (my home town.) I found this on Astronomy Picture of the Day, one of my favourite websites. Every day they post a different image or photograph of the universe, along with a brief explanation written by a professional astronomer. The link to the website is on my sidebar, right down near the bottom.
I love this. Watch it on full screen for best effect.

The photographer, Mark Gee, says that the single shot sequence is unedited and shown in real time -- it is not a time lapse.
Amazing Judith.
ReplyDeleteAll the little people....This is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I've never seen the moon so huge. We just don't get that effect here I guess...
ReplyDeleteThe silhouettes of the moving people are magic.
ReplyDeleteSara Hatch: You need to film from well back, and use a telephoto lens.
That's bloody gorgeous, I loved it! Been away from blogland for a while and upon return I couldn't find your blog (senility). Managed to find you via one of your comments thank goodness. Am adding to you my blog list so I don't lose you again!
ReplyDeleteVery happy that you tracked me down, Craig. I'm popping over to your blog immediately!
