I've been in my new house four whole days, and I'm still surrounded by chaos. This time though the chaos is slowly turning into order. Slowly is the operative word though because unpacking is hard work on your own. (And when you're as old as I am!) I have phone and wireless internet sorted with a new provider, and I need to get a new email address. I'll do that today, I hope.
I think I'm going to like it here. The house is on a main road and I had been worried about traffic noise after living in the quiet countryside, and indeed there is almost constant noise but surprisingly it doesn't worry me much. Later on I may consider double-glazing if the noise bothers me.
The house was built in the Sixties and still has the original fixtures - which are awful. The whole house needs a makeover and modernising, starting with the bathroom. The shower barely trickles and I dare not try the bath! I tried to turn on the bathroom heater and the cord snapped off as soon as I touched it. I plan to gut it and start again. Then I'll start on the rest of the house. It's my project for the year.
