I think it's time that I stopped slacking and cranked this comatose blog back into life. I don't imagine I'll be updating all that frequently, though. Unfortunately there's no spectacular scenery or cute animals to photograph to fill up space, but I expect I'll be able to find a few things to write about. It's taking a while, longer than I thought it would, to adjust to living in an urban environment after years of country isolation. I have to remember to get dressed properly, for a start! No more watering the garden or fetching the mail in gumboots and dressing gown. You're always "on show" in town!
I like my new house and it is sound and well-built, but it hasn't been updated since the house was built in 1968 and it's showing its age. Most of my time has been spent turning it into something I can live with. So far the bathroom has been renovated, the old carpet torn up and new carpet put in, and I've had some landscaping done. I've started a new page with "before and after" photos, largely as a record for me, but if you're interested you can see the changes I'm making. Click on the "My new house" link under "Pages", in the column on the right to take you there.
